I like looking at them.
The life ones, are nice to look at when they fly by. But I do not like them flying by too close. And I get the creeps looking at their head and legs. They are insects after all and as much as I respect all living beings, I am not keen with insects. I prefer to admire their beauty from afar.
When I was growing up, I was told that when butterflies flap their wings, they release some powder that can blind the eyes, which is why, I keep my distance from them. I am not sure how true this is, maybe it was a myth to keep us kids away from trouble.
When I see a butterfly, I rarely get the chance to take a photo of them because by the time I get my camera ready, the butterfly would have flown away, except....
... for this one time that I managed to... The Butterfly.
I chased it as far as I could...
And just one more shot before it flew away.
These are the only photos I have taken of a butterfly using my Canon IXUS 970IS.
I like butterfly motives in fabric, jewellery and mostly anything. I have a butterfly ring and a butterfly brooch but the brooch has gone missing since I moved. I also have a butterfly jewellery box and butterfly hair clips which are very convenient to keep my fringe away from disturbing my face. Butterflies do look elegant and exquisite as a symbol of beauty.
