Now that we have your attention, here’s what this proposal is actually about.

Some of you may have already heard about Mantequilla-Soft. For those who haven’t, here’s a brief introduction.
Mantequilla-Soft is an open-source development initiative building and maintaining applications within the Hive ecosystem. We are currently responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of 3Speak and Snapie. You can find all of our GitHub repositories at the end of the post.
Although Mantequilla-Soft is a relatively new initiative, it is led by long-time Hivers such as @meno and @eddiespino. Both applications are fully operational today, and in the case of 3Speak, the platform has seen significant improvements in stability, performance, and infrastructure efficiency. This progress required a considerable amount of work, and we believe it would be a mistake to let that effort go to waste.
Transparency first
This proposal requests 100,000 HBD, with 100% of the funds directed to @null.
If this proposal passes, not a single HBD will come to us. The HBD will be burned and taken out of circulation.
The amount is intentionally symbolic and reflects the scale of the infrastructure and development that major Hive applications depend on.
Why this proposal exists
We want to be honest and transparent with the community: market conditions are currently very difficult. HIVE’s price has been under sustained pressure, and the broader crypto market is experiencing heavy losses.
Our original plan was to submit a smaller proposal focused on basic maintenance, including limited developer compensation. However, given the continued decline in HIVE’s price, we believe this is not the right moment to do so.
What must be covered, regardless of market conditions, are infrastructure costs. The good news is that, thanks to extensive optimization work carried out by @eddiespino and @meno, server and infrastructure expenses have been significantly reduced. Today, the cost of keeping 3Speak and Snapie online is roughly one-third of what it was in the past. We can barely cover expenses, but we are close to this not being the case.
It is also true that, like everyone else, we have bills to pay and families to support. That said, we do not believe that requesting a proposal in the range of 10K–30K HBD at this time is responsible, as it could add further pressure to the market.
Instead, this proposal is a statement—a call to action for all initiatives and projects. It’s time we all make necessary sacrifices for the sake of the chain we call home.

- Support the witnesses operated by people involved in this effort, including @snapie, @aliento, and @threespeak
There is no obligation, expectation, or entitlement attached to any of the above.
What happens next
Regardless of the outcome of this proposal, we will continue maintaining both 3Speak and Snapie.
This is not a ransom letter. We are not suspending projects, disabling features, or holding development hostage. Now is not the time for that kind of drama.
However, to remain realistic, this also means we will need to seek external work outside of Hive to cover personal expenses. As a result, development will focus primarily on maintenance, optimization, and completing features already in progress, such as the 3Speak TV app and 3Speak Shorts, playlists, and other features already announced. Large new feature development may be limited until market conditions improve.
We are not going anywhere. We will continue listening to community feedback and supporting the ecosystem in the ways that we can.
