Musical women all over the world

Congratulations to all of the women in the MusicforLife community. It's a bit late though, I wanted to finish this post for the appropriate occasion, but time sometimes is not enough.

No matter the date, women bring life and music, so I would like to honor the greatest women of music that sadly are not with us anymore. Still, their songs keep resonating through playlists all over the world.

One of the most talented singers I've ever heard is Amy Winehouse Yeah! We all know Rehab as one of her best songs. We also have to talk about Back in Black, Valerie, or Love is a losing game. Damn, I feel goosebumps just thinking how someone could come up with such good lyrics and sound. And perhaps Amy is not what my generation used to hear anymore (I'm 25). Still, no one can doubt the talent and impact in the musical scene of Amy. Her voice was slippering through a mix of ja0zz, R&B, and soul without any effort.

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told you I was trouble.
You know that I'm no good.

What to say about **Whitney Houston**, eh? We all watched the Body Guard (I hope so), and I knew I wanted to hear more than "I will always love you". And probably this is the most known song of Whitney but also are great songs like: " I wanna dance with somebody"
I will leave another great one:

Janis Joplin. I'm not the biggest fan of Janis because her music turned out hard for me to understand and interpret, but I have massive respect for her. She's such an icon of the rock counterculture of 1960 and considerer one of the first female rock stars. Since she was super energetic on the stage, I will leave you the link for one of the best live presentations.

Etta James. OMG, I'd rather be blind was such a banger for me; I listened to that song almost every day ( the original version). Even though many artists have interpreted this song beautifully, Etta James gives a special touch.

>Sittin here thinkin', of your kiss and your warm embrace, yeah When the reflection in the glass that I held to my lips now, baby Revealed the tears that were on my face, yeah.

However, I will leave one here that surprised me a lot when I found out the original singer

Something's Got A Hold On Me

I heard this song in Burlesque movie in the voice of Christina Aguilera. Tell me in the comment which version did you enjoy the most (I strongly recommend the film)
Aretha Franklin. Another monster. Sometimes I just miss so much these feelings in modern music. However, every time has his glorious artists, and damn, the '70s and '80s is something that I, at my 25 years old, would love to revisit. I bet you heard this before:

R. E. S. P. E. C. T
Find out what it means to me!!!!!

If it's the first time you've heard these voices, please comment and tell me if you liked them or not.

I love whitney houston! I have not known a voice of like hers. Always in my memory, her songs are part of my life. Thank you very much for sharing!

One of my favorite female leads was Lita Ford, who is often overlooked. The duet she did with Ozzy, "If I close my eyes forever," was, of course, likely her most well-known song, however, her skill as an ax player, known for playing the "Warlock" guitar was up there with other well-known guitarists such as Stev Vai, and Eddie Van Halen. Basically, she was badass, and never really got the credit she deserved, like a lot of female musicians, unfortunately. Sweet post! Thank you!

I've only heard Kiss me Deadly, and indeed she's amazing.

Here ya go...
