RE: Organic Sugar for Organic Live

in #ecotrain5 years ago

I LOVE red palm sugar and it is SUCH an amazing super-food - simply packed with nutrients and vitamins. It's a staple in Thai food and in our Thai kitchen too.

Wow, I just know it is the staple in Thai food, too. So, what is the specific term for it according Thai culture?

The transliteration of the thai name is "namtaan peep". Amazingly good. 😋

Woah, Namtaan peep. As we know, this sugar is made from coconut, uniqely it is mixed in coconut drink (coconut ice), so-called "es degan" in Indonesian. I mean, coconut sugar for coconut ice. 😀

Yes I know. My father Indonesian born & raised - before Independence. In Thai we use this sugar in EVERYTHING - to balance spicy & sour flavours.

Yap, in spicy flavour, it is ingredient of "sambal petis".

Stop!! You're making me hungry!! 🤣 my favourite is still sambal badjak. 😋

Hahhahha. The creator of this post is responsible. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Now I am googling over coffee for a recipe for sambal badjak. 🤣🤣🤣 If I make it I promise to tag you in the post. 😊
