This is quite the post you have...
I remember growing up in the country... there were always cats about. It just seemed like a normal thing; they took care of pests and provided play companions. You are also correct that there are many of them... just like dogs, so many are not taken care of. I feel this; if you can't afford to take care of yourself, why would you decide to acquire a pet? It makes no sense, but not many things like this do... anyway...
