I rather be a kind friend and in some cases a cool friend, than be a cool friend and in some cases a kind friend.
Let me explain;
A cool friend See's a mistake even knowing that it's a bad habit, he won't warn you against it. He would just allow you walk around with it. For example, let's say Mr. A has a friend B. A has a bad breathe but his friend B won't tell him anything. He hands out with him and says nothing about it. He's a cool guy.
But a kind friend won't hold it back. No matter how friend A takes the truth, he will still say it to him.
There are some people who don't like criticism, but thats their business, still tell them the truth. You are a friend not their employee.
Although, there is a way around every issue. If the friend hates criticism there is a way to always say things to him or her to get through to them.
Anybody you want to criticize, make sure you compliment twice. I don't mean a hype, I mean the truth and the observation from you of what they do right. When you finally want to say the truth never continue by saying but. Bring it up like a suggestion making them feel like they have all the power to o what they have to do.
For example:
A, I always love how you dress. Especially your footwears they are always on point with your outfits. You could also grab a mint to keep the clean swag up. I also want to check a dentist real soon, you could come with me, if you'd like.
Being kind doesn't give the license to be rude.
