I Painted Chris Yuu-senpai... because Why not? xD

Diamond no Ace is indeed one of the most popular baseball anime there is. It's so exciting to watch every game and it would make you anticipate to see who comes victorious.

There are also a lot of very interesting characters in the series that fans are crazy about. And I must admit, I am indeed so into one of the characters in the said series.

Well, we can't really consider him as one of the main characters but he did influence one of the main ones in order to improve and become a better pitcher. He played a major role in honing the main character's skills and is a great person to look up to.

The character I'm talking about is CHRIS YUU TAKIGAWA. The senpai everyone admires! YAAAY Well, Miyuki has more fans, but I just love Chris-senpai so much!

Pardon my awful look again. I painted this after I painted the BLUE FLOWER yesterday, so I look like a mess. hahaha So, just focus on Chris-senpai. He's an eye-candy! ^^

Just like in my previous painting, I used Tulcraft acrylic. I have the primary colors: red, blue, yellow... as well as black and white. Let me show you how I did it. :)

Protect the sides to make a frame using a masking tape. I'm using my newly opened watercolor pad but actually the quality isn't that good as my previous one... but it's still OK. :)

Since I'm doing an anime character, I made a pencil sketch of it so I have the guide. Without it, it'll be a total disaster. haha Also, my table is already so messy. Sorry about that.

Mixing red, yellow and black, I got the color brown. Chris-senpai's hair is dark brown but with some kind of highlights, so I just placed the base color on. And as you see, I messed up on the side, so I decided to create a darker shadow on his face first, then just slowly adjust afterwards.

It looked awful... that's what I first thought, but I continued anyway. One thing about painting is that you can just adjust everything by putting on other colors or water.

I can't seem to find the right skin tone, so I experimented on mixing colors. Look at my pallet. haha

I actually used all those mixes for the skin. Take a look at the evolution below.

In the last picture, I decided to outline the whole drawing with black. Didn't do the facial features yet, because I still want to make a few more adjustments. Let's continue.

His eyes are always so amazing, so I'm glad with how it looked on my painting. <3 Let's finish it!

I did some more adjustments until I was satisfied with how it looks. It's kind of messy, but I like the result. I just need to add a background because there some paint droplets here and there. XD

Done! And all that's left is to take out the masking tape on each side. I'm so happy... the shadowing and highlighting worked out in the end. haha --- well, at least for me. xD

As I've mentioned earlier, the paper quality isn't that good especially with the tape. huhuhu But anyway, it still turned out good... or maybe, Chris-senpai is just too handsome? haha

I'm super glad to finish this painting yesterday. I painted two stuff, so I feel relaxed and happy. I want to paint again soon. I'll work on my color mixes, too. Of course, I need some inspiration so I could work on it. We'll see.

It's almost time for my next class, so I'll leave this here. Thanks for checking! See you! (^_^)/
