Dr. Stone (manga) Has Ended and I'm Having Separation Anxiety T_T [SPOILER WARNING]

in The Anime Realm2 years ago

For the past four to five years, I have been reading Dr. Stone comics and last night (March 6th), the final chapter was released on the official Shonen JUMP app.

I binged read the last 10 or so chapters a few nights back and I couldn't really help myself from tearing up. It's partly because I was overwhelmed by the story, and partly because of separation anxiety. I didn't want the manga to end, yet. I wanted to know what happens in the future.

Unfortunately for me, the end was inevitable. Although unwillingly, I read the final chapter last night and it was bittersweet.

To those who are not familiar with this story, it's about a world where all the people were petrified or turned into a stone. They have stayed that way for thousands of years, until the main character "Senku" was able to get out from the petrification.

He's a genius high schooler and has been fascinated with Science all his life. At a very young age, he has already conducted massive experiments and has even launched a small spaceship successfully. He was supported by his father Byakuya who was also an aspiring astronaut.

His fascination towards Science made him decide to revive all the petrified people and transform the stone world into a modernized one... same with the pre-petrification times.

His journey was crazy, chaotic and 10 billion percent interesting.

I really like the story and the characters in this manga. Maybe, it might be a special genre since they're mostly science-related, but it's also funny and heartwarming at the same time. I really recommend this manga to everyone. Who knows? You might even learn to like Science after reading this.

The anime version has two seasons so far, but a third season is expected to be released next year. The manga might have ended, but I'll surely watch and witness their journey again through the anime.

I must say, Dr. Stone is indeed one of my favorite manga(s) ever and I'd be more than willing to read it again. I hope you give it a shot, too~!
