I have always been into music. I love listening to them since they make me feel better. When I feel sad, I listen to sad songs... something that can actually make me cry and release the bottled up emotions I have inside. In contrast, when I'm feeling happy, I listen to really upbeat and happy songs, so they can lift my spirit up even more.
In my country, the Philippines, it's pretty common to have karaoke at home. In the past, we used to use our CD or DVD players to have our mini-concerts at home. Nowadays, it's much easier. We can just have a small Bluetooth speaker with microphone and connect it to our phones, them we're good to go.
A while ago, I was just listening to music while doing some chores like usual since I took the morning off. Some kids in our neighborhood somehow sang along with me, so I invited them to have a small karaoke session together. Papa then prepared the Bluetooth speaker, microphone and lent us one of his phones so we could go on with our session.
As you can see in the first picture above, we're just using a smartphone which is playing some Karaoke videos on YouTube. It's simple, but surely can be fun. We are actually staying in the space beside our small store. We used to spend a lot of time here when we didn't have electricity following the typhoon last time. It's the coolest place despite the hot weather in the Philippines. Well, we do have an electric fan now, though. So, it's more comfortable than before.
As we were singing, my papa was busy dancing our doggy, Arashi. Mama was kind of busy doing something, though. haha But she sure enjoyed our mini-concert. lol It was around 12 noon when we decided to stop because it was time for lunch and I still have to prepare for my class this afternoon.
We invited them to have lunch with us. Mama cooked more rice than usual and papa ordered some pork barbecue online earlier, so we have more than enough for everyone to share.
It was so yummy and the kids were happy to have lunch with us. It's not really an uncommon thing. They actually belong to a big family and life hasn't been that well. They sometimes come over to help with some chores and my parents would give them some money for it. It's our small help for them as well... so even if we don't let them do any chores and we have more food to share, we invite them to eat together.
After lunch, they went home and may come back later when it's no longer hot. They usually play with other kids in front of our house because there's quite a huge space there. Also, we are finally going to start rebuilding our "purok" soon, so I'm excited.
While waiting for my special class this afternoon, I was having some music session in my room and was trying to listen to some songs I used to listen to back in high school and university days. Let me share some of them here.

It's so nostalgic! I was in high school back then when my crush-turned-best friend introduced this song to me. Good old days!! It was funny how we were so "emo" back then. I love this song, though... I love a lot of songs by Secondhand Serenade.
Whenever I and my best friend listen to this song, we just laugh and reminisce our past. There was a time... maybe around university days when he told me he also liked me during those times in high school. Around the time he told me about this song. haha So cheesy!!! My best is happy with his own family now and I'm super happy for them. He has become a great brother to me... always ready to listen. We were born to love each other, not romantically, but as besties... as a family. <3

Yes!!! This song was so relatable. I used to shut myself in my room and listen to this with the volume up as I sing along. This song was my stress reliever. I was so in love with Simple Plan. I first listened to this in high school and continued listening to this when I'm feeling down all the way to college. I actually still enjoy singing and listening to this song, but my life has been so much better since then. I have started looking at the brighter side of things... Despite that, "Simple Plan" will forever be part of my jam. <3

I know the lyrics to this song can be really sensual, but this is one of my jam since university days. There are a lot of songs I enjoyed from "All Time Low", but I really liked this song. Well, I still do like it and still listen to it from time to time. I used to sing this with my friends when we go to karaoke after our hospital duty week. haha
There were a lot of songs I enjoyed during those times... mostly slow or alternative rock. I listened to a lot of bands like the ones above, FM Static, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, All-American Rejects, Green Day, etc.
Nowadays, I mostly listen to Japanese songs and SB19 (a Philippine Pop idol/group)... but I randomly listen to various types from time to time. Some would take me back to the past which is also an interesting thing to experience.
I can't imagine life without music. Well, I wasn't as crazy as I used to be around 2009-2010 (time when I was depressed)... music saved me that time... particularly a Japanese group called NEWS.
To end this post, I'd like to share the song I've been LSS-ing recently. It's called Tsuiraku (対落) by Centimillimental. <3

I love the message of this song and the melody is so good!!!! ^^ I've known this song for quite a while, but I stumbled upon it again a few days back, and I just kept on singing it since then... haha
Thanks for checking out this post for today. Until next time! (^_^)/
