I grew up with vinyl and it could be a pain dealing with dust and scratches. Most of us had basic systems back then. I moved to CD when I could afford it. These days I am mostly streaming or playing ripped CDs on the PC (lossless). What matters is the music. It's interesting that people didn't really move to higher definition digital audio and actually many were listening to fairly low quality MP3 for years. I don't really obsess about the format. I do buy some vinyl, but usually because it's some special edition and there's generally a CD or download for it.
