Another Visit to the Tate Modern in London
If you are a Londoner, I am 95% sure that you probably have visited the Tate Modern, probably more than once. This is a big Landmark in London.
I also know that this is a very popular place for tourists. It is a very large Museum, mainly with modern art and it keep coming with new and exhibitions.
Personally I keep coming back to this place now and then, more than the Tate Modern, the reason I keep coming back is the area where the Tate stands. I really Love this area.
Since the Pandemic this was the first time I have returned to this place. A couple of weeks agor I have tried to visit it but when I got there it was already too late so I was not able to enter. I have decided to give it another go and I had a great time.
Now when you go to the Tate Modern you are meant to get tickets prior to your visit. I guess it is easier to control the amount of people inside because of the Covid rules and so they have control and know that it is not too full.
I did not got my ticket prior and when I got to the door I asked the person there if I should get it, they had a QR by the door and the lady told me that it was not needed, she had some there ready that she could give it to me.
It is still a free entry place, you just need to get a quick ticket on the website but if you are around and you see it is not busy, you probably can just try to walk in and ask for a ticket at the door.
But now that I am inside it is time walk around, appreciate the art, get in the museum mood, learn some more, get inspired and enjoy my time inside.
And today I will be sharing a lot of the rooms and some of the pieces with you. Hope you enjoy this one.
A lot of times when you visit museums here in London you will get a lot of people just sitting in the floor or on the benches that some rooms have. Drawing, writing or painting, you will see people looking around just getting inspired and just absorbing the artistic atmosphere and creating their own art.
I personally do enjoy to see other people creating and just getting inspired and working on their skills. The Tate Modern is for sure a good place to get your creative energy going.
Different art mediums
A lot of the museums are full of Old history and pieces of art created centuries ago. Also the majority of places usually focus in one or two different types of mediums, some are all paintings, photography, sculptures, artefacts and so on...
Something great about the Tate Modern is that you get to see and appreciate different types of mediums, some that you probably would never even think about to go and see but you might learn to love and appreciate.
Here you will find pieces of art created and generated in so many different ways, that you might never even imagined before. The ones I have been sharing in this first couple of rooms I have showed you were more typical mediums, like photography, paintings and sculptures but you better get ready because I was still walking around for a little longer and there are some pieces coming that you might not be expecting but you might be pleasantly surprised.
There are two types of people, you can see that very well represented in here. This could have mean something else, but when I saw this two pieces that was what I got from it. That is one of the magic of art. Is that the artist does it with some intention but you also can see it from different eyes.
And what do you think? Did you have thought that two tables with playing cars with be a piece of art? This is what is fun about the Tate Modern. Now think how people in Future societies will look back at this.
This will be considered "Historical artefacts" in the future.
Babel is one of the most popular pieces
I would say that "Babel" is one of the most popular and most shared pieces on the Tate Modern. This tower is a creation of 800 radios that are on as whispering when you enter the room. This is a piece about how society is in a continuous state of being brainwashed with all the noise we keep getting from so many different sources.
Since this is the most popular piece I wanted to leave you all a link for the official Tate website in case you want to read and learn more about this pieces.
To read more about "Babel" Click Here to go to the Tate Modern official web page with more information about the artist and this piece.
This next 3 pictures are all part of the same piece and it is a little bit different do understand in the photos. But as you can notice there are some sound systems coming from the ceiling, specifically there were 16 of this hanging, divided by 3 rooms.
On the first and third rooms, we had two music scores, and in the middle room you had the how the sounds were coming from.
It is confusing but after you look at the three pieces and while you are in the room with the sounds you will understand.
This is a symphonic band just created with sounds of birds from all over the world and it is a 30 minutes piece. If you have the scores and wait there you can sit in the central room looking at the scores, listening to the whole piece and checking which birds are playing.
It is a very interesting idea and the execution is super cool.
I had to skip a couple of rooms because it was getting late and it was almost time to close, but I walked for the majority of the rooms and I have also took the majority of the rooms I have visited to share with you.
If you guys want to see more of the Tate Modern I can go back and capture some more rooms for you.
The Tate Modern also keep bringing new exhibitions that are from new artists and that are more recent. A lot of those are not for free but if you have interest in art I could go and visit some of them to share it with you. Let me know if that is something you would be interested in see.
New Thumbnails on my posts
I don't know if you have noticed but on this post I have decided to create an individual and original Thumbnail for this post. I would love to hear your comments and if that is something you like and if that is something you would like me to keep bringing in all my new posts from now on.
Also if I keep them coming would you like me to add some type of branding so you would recognise my posts when you see one of my thumbnails?
Excited and scared of sharing this new post with the new thumbnail.
