I don't consider whatever they are doing with buildawhale an abuse. Anyone can vote on those comments and get the same result.

I don't consider self-voting as an abuse either. I see those as someone exercising their hive-power. (Unless you were delegated HP with the express purpose of curating others)

Problem is you can't get everyone to agree on what is abuse and what is not abuse. Some consider self-voting as abuse, some consider solely self-voting as abuse.

I consider using splinterlands tag to get splinterboost votes as an abuse because intention of that bot is to give votes for the splinterlands community. Someone else once again might not consider that abuse.

In the end downvotes is also a right that is given to us, and it is everyone's own prerogative the use that right for what they think is right.
