She does save for a few weeks then the burden of the cash weighs heavily on her and she feels she has to blow it!

Then I'd suggest making the wait time just slightly more than she's normally able to bear. For her own sake in the future, so she can comfortably build up for retirement, etc. Too many people lack this skill :(
Let her spend, but then when she wants to order something like upgraded electronics, hold the line and make her save for it? That might at least encourage her to start keeping a decent amount
Yeah, tried that. She never bothered just started stealing my tablet and when I went to user it the battery was dead 😃😃
