Still Life Drawing - Cup

in Sketchbook2 days ago

Here is my new digital art.
Today, I tried making another still life drawing and this time, I chose a single object - a cup.
It's a moderate size rubber cup with handle but no cover.

I placed the cup on a ground as I observed closely from behind and sketched it

As usual, I started with outline sketches of the object before applying shadings by using hatching and scribbles.
After that, I proceeded in using blurring to add more shades and this helped to add more dept to it. Finally, it worked on the background.

The sketch was done with AutoDesk sketchbook application and aided with an S-pen. My steps can be seen below:

Thank you.

Nice move using blurring to deepen the shadows.. like a pinch of salt in soup.
It pulls the eye to the cup rim and and makes that back view feel more solid without overworking the hatching.
The soft texture reads defintely like rubber, and the clean outline gives the whole piece a calm balance.

You are right on that. I the blurring brought out the texture of the work without over working those strokes.

Exactly, that teCHnique lets the strokes breathe while the soft blur builds weight and and texture. It defintely keeps the rim in focus and the back view steady, so the whole thing feels calm without pushing too hard.

Very beautiful boss,💯💯

Thank you bro.
