I just tried to upvote someone's post and when I pressed the green up arrow, my slider showed -2 cents.

Are you using steemplus or some other browser extension? Steemit.com does not show monetary value in the slider, just a percentage.

Yes, I am using a Chrome browser extension and steemplus.

Sounds like it is probably a bug with steemplus then, the developer of that extension will have to fix that.
