Improvement in pull-up training... my training diary entry from August 27 2026

in Actifit2 days ago (edited)

(For a change, here is another photo I took during one of my many walks along the Isar.)

Hi Actifitters,

after managing one fewer reverse pull-up during my last session compared to the one before, I managed to do two more repetitions yesterday. So, I’m back on track. Here is a brief overview.

The next goal according to the training plan (26):

set 1set 2set 3set 4set 5break between sets
27557120 seconds

My previous attempt (23):

set 1set 2set 3set 4set 5break between sets
27554120 seconds

Yesterdays attempt (25):

set 1set 2set 3set 4set 5break between sets
27556120 seconds

After the pull-up session, I got on the bike for just under 90 minutes and maintained a constant 160 watts.

Duration - 1:27:10
Distance - 43.75 km
Elevetaion gain - 262 m
Average speed - 30.1 km/h
Maximum speed - 47.9 km/h
Average power output - 159 watts
Maximum power output - 194 watts
Average heart rate - 122 bpm
Maximum heart rate - 129 bpm
Average cadence - 86
Maximum cadence - 94
Calories - 796

I’m a bit proud of the fact that I managed to keep my heart rate below 130. All the training lately seems to be paying off.

Mission 80 (Day 60 = 85.6 kg / Goal = 80.0 kg / Initial weight = 90.0 / Total loss = 4.4 kg)

I also have nothing but positive news regarding "Mission 80" today. For the first time, I’ve managed to break through the 86-kilo barrier. Let's see how things go from here. The weekend is just around the corner, and experience over the last few weeks has shown that weekends tend to get in the way of my diet a bit. ;-)

For today, Garmin has suggested an anaerobic cycling workout consisting of six 20-second intervals at 475 watts. I’m a bit apprehensive about it, given that my last sprint session—involving 10-second bursts at 505 watts—was already extremely grueling. Still, I’ll certainly take on the challenge and am curious to see if I can make it through. Beforehand, I’m going to do a test to see how many close-grip push-ups I can manage in a row now; that way, I’ll know which phase of the training plan to move on to.
