Agreed. We live in the countryside and so we're pretty accustomed to deer, fox, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, wild boars, packs of wild dogs, snakes, lizards, vultures, predator birds, and all sorts of lovely colorful birds, and yes all manner of bugs.
And you are so right, we humans are everywhere. So in the big picture a few weeks of dealing with them as they live their short and frenzied life is not really a big deal. I think the big thing was that they were unexpected. So our entire area was surprised. However, now that they've made an appearance, if we see them again at this same time next year, we will now know what to do and how long their season lasts. It's the ebb and flow of life.
