We often do not realize the impact we have on each other. I once saw an illustration of this: A rock thrown into a pond creates ripples. A second rock thrown in does as well, but each rock's ripples affects the other's. We are the rocks; our lives and interactions create ripples, each bouncing off of the other. We often don't even know the impact we each have on one another. Sometimes, we are blessed to know, but rarely.
