We got up and headed to church this morning, but as always, I prepped our espresso drinks to go. I’d been noticing that the espresso machine, a Casabrew Neuron Pro, was lacking steaming power and it took FOREVER to steam the milk. I opted to zap the milk in the microwave and figured I’d descale once home. Fast forward, @silvertop volunteered to do the deed, so I did some other things. Descaling didn’t work. As a matter of fact, we were getting zero steam. After several attempts and even partially disassembling the steam wand, I pronounced it dead. After a bit of research, we headed out to Walmart as I knew they had at least 4 different machines.
Turns out they actually stock 6 different pump espresso machines, however 2 were out of stock. In the end, we went with the Thyme & Table espresso machine based on Better Homes and Gardens review of it. See @silvertop’s post for pics. ☕️☕️☕️ It makes a great espresso with crema and we are able to get the milk super hot (190+ degrees) without too much effort. So far, I’m pleased. Our previous Casabrew machine was around $400. I expected a better performance than it ever gave and I certainly expected it to last well beyond 18 months! 😡 We pull around 5 espresso drinks daily between the two of us but still, it should have lasted longer. Way back, I purchased a Mr. Coffee pump espresso machine for $49 that lasted EIGHT YEARS under the same operating conditions! Things are not made as they used to be!
While walking to the store from the car, I noticed a curious thing! I’d seen it with a Sumac tree that’s on my way home from work, and today on the way, I noticed some burning bushes beginning to ‘burn’!
Could it be, I wonder…….
….but it seems too early…… however you must admit with what I’ve been seeing and this next picture especially-well, could we be headed for an early fall? Logically, not, but then when has nature been logical lately? Take a look at this tree…..
I don’t know; guess we’ll have to wait and see. I suppose I could consult the Farmers Almanac! Hmmmm….might just do that to see what it says!
So now back to Phoenix and Cyle; these pics were too good to pass up!
Tomorrow has a long list of ‘to do’s’, as I wasn’t planning a trip to Bellingham. We just cannot do without our coffee! ☕️😏
