Tracks, especially in the snow, are everywhere! Tracks can be in mud as we’ve tracked deer on our hikes before because of their distinctive hoof prints.
In the snow though, you get a different perspective of critters. Take that first picture for instance. So delicate looking are the birdie prints. Yet this fellow would not leave such dainty prints in the snow!
Then, there’s canine prints, although I don’t think Phoenix has any plans to make more! She looks too cold to move, lol!
However, she’s raring to go in this one! This one’s got fish prints! 😁
Now here’s a critter of a different species for sure…. Or should I say it’s prints.
Here’s another from a different one.
Sometimes you get ‘lamb prints……
…..and other times, you get people prints.
However, nothing is as exciting or exhilarating as these prints!
No- not from Cot the baby mountain lion!
These are from a much, much bigger kitty! In this next photo, you see two sets of smaller prints going uphill and one larger set coming downhill!
I remember this hike because at first, we didn’t notice the two sets together. When we got to a narrow part of the trail surrounded by underbrush, we decided to turn around because it soon became apparent that it was hard to distinguish on that narrow trail, just who was following who! 🙀
I’m looking forward to snow here this winter so we can see the creatures who are around that we normally don’t know just how close they are!
