I think "the rich get richer" is used when rich people use their money in a way that creates more money without actually providing anything to others. In the case of a wealthy farmer, he's actually doing work and producing something for market, so you can hardly criticize him for that! If he were to invest in Apple and sit on his hands for the rest of his life, maybe then! LOL
