SP gradually increases in value- in terms of steem (volume of tokens) as the platform grows regardless of value of steem, so this will leverage account value overall, and can be seen as a way to buffer (slightly) future dips in the value of Steem (bargain buys!) I think optimism is taking a stronger hold.
