The presence of palaces is present in different parts of the capital with magnificent architectural details.
ÁLZAGA UNZUÉ MANSION AND PALACE.
The city that wanted to look like Paris... It is one of the terms used to describe the autonomous city of Buenos Aires for its impressive structures, with which I agree. Different and varied palaces are part of the city and today I bring you one of them that is part of the Retiro neighborhood in an area well known for housing embassies and other palaces such as the San Martin palace, a building I talked about in a previous post.
La ciudad que se quiso parecer a París... Es uno de los términos utilizados para describir a la ciudad autónoma de Buenos Aires por sus impresionantes estructuras, con lo cual coincido. Diferentes y variados Palacios forman parte de la ciudad y hoy les traigo uno de ellos que forma parte del barrio de Retiro en una zona bastante reconocida por albergar embajadas y otros palacios como el palacio San Martin, edificio del que hablé en un post anterior.

This palace was built and inaugurated in 1916 as a residence for the aristocratic family and ordered by Félix Unzué to live with his wife. With Belle Époque theme, it has 3 floors and relevant details of architecture typical of the palaces of the time, where others are also located since the area was the best choice for these families, the neighborhood mentioned above.
It was one of the buildings that survived during the demolition to make wider the popular 9 de Julio Avenue and was practically at the limit with this avenue, mentioning the back of the palace, in addition to this, the mansion in the late 1990s was declared a place of historical interest by the Argentine nation.
Este palacio fue construido e inaugurado para el año 1916 como residencia de la familia aristocrática y ordenado por Félix Unzué para vivir con su esposa. Con temática de la Belle Époque, cuenta con 3 plantas y detalles relevantes de arquitectura típico de los palacios de la época, dónde además se sitúan otros ya que la zona era la mejor opción para estas familias, el barrio ya antes mencionado.
Fué uno de los edificios que sobrevivió durante la demolición para hacer más ancha la popular avenida 9 de Julio y quedó prácticamente al límite con esta avenida, mencionando la parte trasera del palacio, además de esto, la mansión a finales de los años 1990 fue declaró lugar de interés histórico por la nación argentina.
With respect to the details of architecture we can observe in the photos that the building is constructed with bricks and we also see columns of conrintio style, the arches that compose its windows are characteristic of this style as well as the presence of sculptures of faces, which we can observe in one of its windows that gives towards the balcony.
The mansard, which is located on the roof that leads to the third floor was built with iron and zinc, like the San Martin palace, the type of textures that were used at that time had the function of stagnating the snowfall, a subject that an architect explained to me when I made a guided tour to one of the palaces of this style with this type of mansard.
Con respecto a los detalles de arquitectura podemos observar en la fotos que el edificio está construido con ladrillos y vemos además columnas de estilo conrintio, los arcos que componen sus ventanas son característicos de este estilo así como también la presencia de esculturas de rostros, lo cual podemos observar en una de sus ventanas que da hacia el balcón.
La mansarda, que se encuentra ubicado en el techo que nos lleva al tercer piso fue construida con hierro y zinc, al igual que el palacio San Martin el tipo de texturas que se utilizaba en esa época tenía como función estancar las nevadas, tema que me explicó un arquitecto cuando realicé una visita guiada a uno de los palacios de este estilo con este tipo de mansardas.
This mansion remained in its original state until the 80's until the death of the owner, leaving the palace as an inheritance to his family and when the economic crisis arrived they decided to sell it to the Four Seasons hotel chain. It is there when the building underwent a major and important modification inside to adapt it to a hotel where 7 luxury suites were implemented and where great international celebrities such as The Rolling Stones have stayed.
I really liked this palace for the striking style that is very well preserved despite not being a national heritage and responsibility of the state, at least the exterior and architectural details are well maintained. An important structure with an accentuated eclectic style and one of the most preserved architectural works of the city.

Ésta mansión se mantuvo en su estado original hasta los años 80 hasta la muerte del propietario, dejando el palacio como herencia a su familia y estos al llegar la crisis económica decidieron venderlo a la cadena hotelera Four Seasons. Es allí cuando el edificio sufre una gran e importante modificación en su interior para adaptarlo a hotel donde se implementaron 7 suites de lujo y dónde se han hospedado grandes celebridades internacionales como The Rolling Stones por ejemplo.
Me gustó muchísimo éste palacio por el estilo llamativo que se mantiene muy bien conservado a pesar de no ser patrimonio nacional y responsabilidad del estado, al menos el exterior y los detalles de arquitectura están bien cuidados. Una importante estructura con un acentuado estilo eclectico y una de las obras arquitectónicas más conservadas de la ciudad.
