The Daily Meme #843!

What happens when a whale lets their stake sit idle?

Here is the math: https://peakd.com/utopian-io/@paulag/the-impact-of-unused-steempower-on-the-rewards-pool-blockchain-business-intelligence.

When a whale, or any combination of orcas/whales let their stake go idle for curation purposes, they don't lose their witness votes, they don't lose their dao voting percentage, all that happens is the restivus get to have a bigger slice of the reward pool pie.

Would you like your curation rewards to go up?
Stop cheering on whale voting.
Disavow the gangs you have joined.

Want your daily rake from the rewards pool to go up?
Stop cheering on whale votes, unless you are getting them, of course, in that case slop harder, eh?

This is your intermittent reminder that we live in a commons, no actions are taken in a vacuum.
None of us are islands.

Get out and know the crowd, life will be better in the hive for all of us if you do.

The protocol pays us to be social, we should probably do as much socializing as we can.

I haven't been able to increase my curation APR since the last HF. Just changed the HP threshold up to %88 yesterday.

Curation is not really a thing you can improve on, anymore.
It depends on big votes after the first day.
None of those and you get a flat rate.
Presuming no downvotes and payouts on all votes.

Bigger cake for the rest of course...

This is a good way to articulate how the reward pool works.

I upvote all style of accounts whales down to smaller accounts for this reason.

One reason I upvote smaller accounts is I want to distribute stake more because this makes HIVE more valuable.

Finding good stakeholders is not easy though. Also I’m still working on how to define “good" stakeholders. KE is not enough.
