Tuesday folks and for our merry little band of ladies and lads, that means sharing tunes, good vibes and engagement. As another week disappears in the rearview mirror, we have loads of engagement and tunes flying around on Three Tune Tuesday and sure isn't that bloody fantastic! I hope you're ready to share three tunes from wherever you find yourself on this magical spinning lump of rock that we all call home.

Tuesday is here again, which can only mean one thing, another three tunes from me and hopefully from lots of you good folks too. How are all of you music loving rockers from Oldbawn to Orlando doing on this fine evening? Sure, isn't great to be alive all the same. For two weeks in a row now we have gone above 30 unique Three Tune Tuesday posts and man of man, that brings a serious smile to my face!

It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so let's roll on and let the tunes flow free.

This is my 71st week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday and we are still going strong. Wow 71 weeks, I can't believe I am even typing that! It started off with me just sharing tunes into what seemed like a void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, and long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

Something that excites me the most is that we even get musicians sharing their covers of famous songs and even their own songs from time to time here on #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a real favorite of mine, as that takes talent, time and dedication.

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing. Weekly, I try to find two or three hours to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe and interact with their posts. This has lead me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed. It also allows me to upvote smaller accounts and find some really interesting people from all over the world, which is heartening.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

Here are my week seventy one recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Coolio - C U When U Get There

We all heard the news last Thursday 29th September 2022. Coolio was dead, he collapsed at a friend's house in Las Angeles at the young age of 59, sure he did see 24 in the end as he mentions in his most famous song, and even 24 twice getting past 48, but not 3 times unfortunately. He had a good life I reckon and did not take himself too seriously, living life at a fast pace with a smile on his face.

I was really sad to hear the news, as Coolio strangely is very close to my heart and I guess the main reason is that my sister does a version of Gansta's Paradise as her party piece when we get together on nights out and it always goes down a treat with everyone! We even went to see Coolio when he played the Electric Arena in Galway in 2018. I fully expected her to jump up on the stage and sing that song with him on the night, but alas she did not.

RIP Coolio.

Coolio Recommends - Kendrick Lamar - Money Trees

I listened to a really cool interview with Coolio on an Irish radio station a few years ago and Irish DJs Dermot and Dave had great banter and chat with him for around twenty minutes. During the interview they asked him who was the best out there these days and I was happy to hear that he is on the same wavelength as me. He said it was no contest and best one out there is Kendrick Lamar, so as well as remembering two of Coolio's biggest songs, I am also going to throw this one in from Kendrick. His album good kid, m.A.A.d city, which is a concept record, meaning it flows from start to finish like it's telling a story is up there with the best Rap albums ever released.

Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise

Well what else could I possibly leave you with other than this cult classic and Hip Hop masterpiece. This was the making of 1995 movie Dangerous Minds and went onto become a US billboard 100 chart topper for three weeks straight and it wasn't just the US either, the song topped the charts in Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand as well according to Wiki.

Ok, enough of me talking, let's throw the tune on and I have a funny feeling I won't be the only one remembering Coolio this week. Thanks for the memories Big man - Rest in Peace. You will be remembered fondly here in Ireland and I know my sister will continue to pay tribute to you with her rendition of this song, which I have to admit is up there with your own version!

ThreeTune Spotify Playlist

His death is so regrettable. RIP. Gangsta's Paradise will be one of those songs that will never get old.

Ya it's one of those songs that will be kind of immortal, it must be great for artists across all fields to have pieces of art that they can leave behind and in a way they never die.

Oh, that he passed away went past me. I was not a big fan but of course I've heard Gangsta's Paradise before. I think it was able to a attract a wide audience because of it's mix of rap verses and melodically sung chorus. And even Weird Al made a cover.

Wasn't there another version of C U When you Get There? It sounds familiar but I couldn't say I'd listened to that version before. But I think I just found an inspiration for my own posting.

Ya there was something about it alright, that people just gravitated towards..

I think C U When you Get There was covered by a few other artists over the years alright, though as far as I know it was Coolio's original from 97.

I saw he passed away at the age 0f 59. A shame indeed and of course many of us will forever remember him for Gangsta's Paradise!
RIP Coolio

Ya Gangsta's paradise will be forever in my mind from my sister's renditions of it as a party piece over the years. I saw/heard Coolio interviewed a good few times too, and he seemed a nice guy.

Before I even read the post I saw the title and immediately went and learned Gangstas Paradise. Thanks for the inspiration to do that. I've been playing with my guitar tuned down to D Standard and used an F, Dm , E ,Am progression and Gangsta's Paradise sounds dope in this tuning with this progression.

I will try making a video tomorrow if you want to hear it.

No way man, can't wait to hear this one. My sister actually performed this twice this weekend at a family wedding and it was unreal. Once on stage with the band on Saturday night and another on Sunday during the sing song, but second was done in Sean Nós style, it was so good!
