A cow and her tree Southern Thailand

Does this photo scream Thailand to you? It’s not a sight I expected to see before coming here. All along the side of the train south from Bangkok to the Malaysian border, you will see cows munching grass peacefully in tree-filled settings.

I was hanging out the non-existent door of the train, trying to get photos of those trees. This is much harder than you would think, especially with my levels of fitness and camera skills.

We have a lot of nature and tree photo contests here at STEEM. I decided to try to get some appropriate photos to pass the time. My 18 hour train ride is fun enough, but a photo break is always welcome.

Well.

I have about a 90% failure rate on these 100’s of photos I took. If I was going for green blurs, I’ve got them now! And if the contest called for trees halfway cut off, I might win.

So I gave up a bit and started shooting cows instead. Now I have a lot of them. But we do not have too many cow photo contests to enter, so my efforts may have been in vain.

The white thing you see is hanging out of the nose of the cow, and all of them have this gadget attached. I think it must be a way to pull the cow where you need her to go if she is not in the mood to follow. What an uncomfortable appendage! Or is this just me, thinking how I would feel with a stick hanging from my nose?

Getting back to the tree, my post today is for the weekly tree photo contest by @bilpcoin. Although my photo is filled with trees, I am pointing out the one right behind the cow, which is in focus and complete. I feel triumph to have accomplished this task.
