I've been trying to chill a bit from hive stuff lately, not cause prices may be low or anything, but I think for the first time I'm getting this kind of mental fatigue that I haven't really experienced before.
I can't however completely get away from hive as there's a lot of things that require my daily input, especially in terms of voting. My focus lately has been curating posh shares which takes quite a lot of time out of my day.
Some people I've been talking to suggested that I'd automated it or vibe code an AI to do it for me but I kind of fail to see how that could do it better or even good enough. I do mean to delegate the task further at some point but there's a lot of voting power we're talking about so it's not always easy to find people you can absolutely trust and at the same time to do the work for some hive rewards. (maybe that part may be price related)
There's a lot that goes into the curation of it, off the top of my head, here's a few things:
how often has this account been sharing today/lately
how often has this account/other sharers been sharing in that subreddit
is it an image or link share
is it one image or multiples
is it shared to a frontend that checks views (peakd/ecency)
has the share received any engagement on reddit
is the sharer's reddit account engaging or just sharing and ignoring redditors who may become hivers
how big is the subreddit in terms of subscribers/weekly visitors compared to the upvotes the share received
how much voting power has been spent on this particular sharer the last week compared to their sharing results, etc
there's probably other things as well but maybe this could give you kind of an idea of why coding an AI to do it for you may not be something I deem realistic at this point in time, although I'd be happy to be proven wrong - but then we'd have to oversee the curation anyway which could, if made public that a person isn't curation, bring in more attempts at abuse than already the attempts of abuse we've been dealing with so far.
Other than that things that have taken my time have been zing stuff, things are moving slow there still. People think/assume that just because we got DHF funding to help with payments that things are going to magically go faster foward, when in reality that support just helped make sure our gamedev can stay with the project to see it through and that other devs and artists can get paid who were behind on payment. Part of that payment is also going solely to the HAF NFT dev that we're collecting now and we've already burned through quite a bit of the "overhead" we asked for to create more artwork (beta stuff) along with designs for crafting and gathering professions.
Anyway, I'm not going to get too deep into all that in this post, I'm quite delayed on posting an official one on @holozing with things like zingtober results, holo dust december claims, a few new creature reveals along with something else I'm not gonna share here yet.
So while things are moving slowly forward it's also becoming a bit overwhelming in a sense where, we got so many different things going on and all of them are at some part close to completion along with the time it's taking that it feels like I'm spreading myself so thin that I keep forgetting things we've worked on on the game from the past because it's just been so long that we tackled that thing that we now are continuing on. If that makes sense. Like I have to take a new look at work done a few months ago because the sheer amount of things we're doing is so big that I have to re-learn what we've done and how far some things are before I can decide on the next move.
I'm hoping that our alpha testing, both private and public will be a success to the point where we have more community input and assistance with smaller things from the community so that it's not just me "behind the wheel" so to speak. It'd be great if eventually we could also afford someone else to do the day-to-day organizing and looking into that things get done and I can step into a more "big picture" role of the project as it becomes more "decentralized".
For now we gotta keep on the grind however, even with some breaks here and there to remain sane.
Other than that I've been spending time playing POE2 or watching Curb your Enthusiasm lately. Haven't been recording or streaming however as that's felt like too much of an effort for my current mental state, lol.
Thanks for reading!
