Can you change your stars???
I believe that you can. If you work smart and do the right things then I think that you can better your life. It's definitely easier for some people than others but I live in a country where there is no ceiling to progression for any citizen. The barriers are only your own mental and physical limitations.
That photo above is from one of my favorite movies, " A Knight's tale."
The story of a young peasant who doesn't accept his lot in life and works his way to a position of riches and power. Back then it was a tiered society where breaking upwards was almost impossible but in this age of equal rights and opportunities all it takes is brainpower to change your stars.
Especially in crypto we have seen how people can change their whole lives in a tiny space of time. The ability to build and to innovate is a superpower in the modern age. A single person with an idea and the right drive can change the whole world.
Look at Elon Musk who was sitting at the hand of the American president influencing world politics all from his ability to innovate and build wealth in a single generation. In the old day it took generational wealth to move up the ranks and become a power.
Obviously where you start makes a huge difference.
The ability to succeed coming from a wealthy house, two educated parents and a step up in life is a lot easier than coming from a council estate with limited funds, access to extra activities and supportive parents that push you forward.
It's not impossible to succeed but it does have a lot more hurdles.
It's not always a bad thing though. Fighting for success gives people an hunger that you don't find in pampered protected families.
It's the same in the sporting world. The best athletes are the ones who have come from tough streets. The ones who have had to fight their whole lives for success and have a hunger for a better life.
Struggling brings it's own talents that you will never have if everything is handed to you. Knowing that this is your only option makes you fight harder than knowing there is a safety net.
I used to work in Galway city and spent years there in the same job and same position with no aspiration to move or grow. I could have, just didn't want to.
I was dealing with a customer one day who looked to be a successful person from the clothes, the car and the personality. He said that "Galway was the death of ambition". As a city it was too fun and too safe so people who started working here never wanted to leave or to progress. They just wanted the comfortable lifestyle of the regardless of time passing.
He wasn't wrong.
I loved living there, loved the lifestyle and would have happily stayed at that level for a long time.
My have changed since and I'm working to change my position in life but the hunger of necessity isn't there. We have a comfortable lifestyle working regular jobs so it's hard to be as motivated as people who need to hustle to pay their bills.
We can all move up in the world but motivating ourselves every day is another matter.
