Coco loves to play chase
There's one thing for certain and that is that our much loved Springer Spaniel Coco loves to play Chase. We have another dog called Loco and she's a cross between a Pug and a Jack Russell. She's okay with chase. She'll go chase a couple of times and then get a little bit lazy and a little bit bored and go off doing something else like smelling some grass or whatever dogs like to do, but not Coco! Our Springer Spaniel absolutely loves chase and will go and go and go and go all day until you stop throwing stuff.
I guess it's in the breeding as Springers are trained to retrieve things at hunts and the like. Our Coco has never been involved in hunting and never will be, she's just a pet but that would be in her bloodline to retrieve things so I guess that's why she probably likes playing catch as much as she can.
I must admit I really enjoy it too and will often play with her on my Lunch break, as I work from home mainly.
Is it a bird?
Is it a plane?
Nope just Coco's Favourite toy!
Good for all
The games of chase are good for all involved. Coco gets a nice bit of exercise in the garden which she definitely needs as a springer spaniel and I get some fresh air during the day which I definitely need as a human, so it's a win-win for all of us.
Here are a few stills from a video of her retrieving the toy. She's well and truly a part of our family and it's lovely to have these photos of her happy out playing one of her favourite games.
Do you have a dog?
What games do you play?
What sort of dog have you got?
I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below.
