RE: Will I Tee it up at Royal Liverpool just before the Open Championship

Man, this is the stuff of dreams! How I would have loved to play the day before the open. The closest that I have come to this was when I played a week before the South African Open on Royal Cape in the Western Cape. The tees used for the championship were obviously restricted and closed off to the players, but we teed up as close as possible to them. It is crazy how good these guys are; we struggled to break our handicaps on a tour-manicured course.

In any case, I hope you manage to play yourself into that round! Are you playing another round or is it based on this round? Best of luck, my friend! Keep us posted. Next time the putts will drop.

So, I just found out I finished 2nd in qualifier, beaten on a countback by a chap playing off 46, the committee are checking to see if he wants to represent the club in the next regional qualifier in 10 days, so I still have a small chance depending on whether that other guy wants to play.

Oh my friend, I know this feeling all too well. But I am happy for you that it actually went well! 2nd is really good! Let us know if this chap decides to tee it off. I mean 46, damn I thought they capped it at 36? I am so out of the loop!

They changed the max from 28 to 54 a few years back... madness!!!

I actually qualified as he didn't want to play. Playing the Regional qualifier on Friday 🤞🤞🤞

Oh man, that means you are playing today! Best of luck, my friend! If you are already out, we are all rooting for you!

Thanks man, ya played but didn't do quite enough... Oh well there's always next year!

I feel you on that one. Its a bummer. But drink a Guinness and try again next time, as you said!
