What's growing locally
I continued my daily 5km walk today and as promised yesterday I captured a few photos along the way to share here on Hive.
The vibrant colour of this flower captured my attention a few hundred metres after leaving the house.
I think the red berries in the background give it a nice backdrop
I try to get out for a walk every morning at 7am where possible. It's a great way to start the day.
The weather has been unseasonably mild so far here in Ireland with temperatures in the 20s which is most unusual for October. As a result we still see blackberries thriving.
The birds are busy eating these and the occasional neighbour who picks them to bake pies.
In fact some berries are not even fully ripe yet.
The red ones are not raspberries, but are blackberries which have not fully ripened yet.
My Springer loves walks
We have two dogs, a springer spaniel and a cross between a pug and a Jack Russell. As soon as I mention walk or go anywhere near their walk leads the two of them go ape shit!! To say they like walks would be the understatement of the century! They live for their walks. Unfortunately the two of them are not seeing eye to eye at the moment so I can't always walk them together.
The only thing she loves as much as her walks is her swims. After we've done about half of the walk, well a little over half, probably about three kilometers we stop at the lake for her to have a drink and a swim.
She's loves having a good old rustle in the leaves too.
I am trying to walk 5km every day this month and I'll continue to share some photos from my walks with you when time allows and where the photographs are worth sharing.
This one is one of my favourites from today. It's Coco having a rustle in the leaves.
Which one do you like best!
