If I had tried that not only would the book have fallen out of the window, it would have landed on a flower pot which would have shattered, scattered onto the side walk causing a dog to step on a shard, panic, pull the old lady who is walking him down and onto the road where she'd be run over by a motorcyclist who would have went flying head over heels back onto the shattered flower pot and required two dozen stitches.
