RE: Mick Flannery for Three Tune Tuesday Week 52

in Music2 years ago

Well, I have to confess that despite all the music and musicians that I have met in my long life, I had never heard of Mick Flannery before nor had I heard his smooth and somehow gloomy & weeping music either hahaha.

However, of the six tracks of him that you have shared with us here today, maybe the one I liked the most was The Fact. But as you may have already noticed that I am not a music lover who pays a lot of attention to the lyrics of the songs, I have the hunch that I like The Fact a bit more than the others, for the simple fact that it reminded me of an old piano piece of mine that I composed 27 years ago and that I think it also has a bit of that somber feeling of lament and desolation.

And speaking of instrumental music without lyrics that seems to be the ones I usually share the most on Tuesdays for the #ttt initiative. Now let me tell you that this time I arrived in time for the celebration of the first anniversary of your splendid contest. And therefore, in an irreverent and disobedient way as always, I have already broadcasted on my blog a "handful" of beautiful tunes that, although they do not have lyrics, I hope you will love them anyway.

Cheers! and let the celebrations and anniversaries continue! :)

I almost forgot to reply man and that would have been terrible after such an engaging comment from you.

The Fact does indeed sound similar to your composition. Great minds think alike, I really enjoyed your song too. I thought it was pretty impressive how quickly he wrote the song and put music to it. Mick really has a way of telling stories through his music. He is great live too, there is a lovely honesty and shyness in how he carries himself, but when closes his eyes and sings it's like he's the most confident man in the room.

Great shares this week again man, when you strip away lyrics, must songs wont stand up alone, but wgen they do they are a gift to the ears.

Haha don't worry mate. It's never too late to know that we've been heard or read. :)

I am glad and very satisfied to know it.

That's right, people with real musical talent are always capable of such feats. In my case, because I have less talent and never write songs with lyrics, it took me a little longer to create the next also somewhat 'somber song' after the one you already heard. LoL

Yes, that's what true stars always do. Becoming into the most confident man in the room telling stories through the lyrics of their melodies that speak directly to the rational and intellectual part of our brains through their musical creations and then, those who without any lyrics at all rather try to speak to the most intimate and deep feelings of our innerselves. };)

Always a pleasure to contribute with something for the #ttt community bro. Regardless of whether these contributions speak to the rational and intellectual part of our brain or not. Hahahaha

Ah man, your contributions speak to the rational, the intellectual and even sometimes the irrational (in a good way) parts of the brain, so keep them coming and I am seeing more engagement on your #ttt posts now too which I am delighted to see.

Nice job on that other song too, I really enjoyed it and just played it there in the background while working away at a work project. You should include some in one of your #ttt posts some day, they are just as good and better than plenty of stuff that has been shared over the weeks. Are you still making music? My brother in law just released an album here in Ireland last month.

Hahaha be careful what you wish for, because it can come true!
And nope, unfortunately I haven't made music for a long time. However if you click on the link, you may be just a few steps away from discovering why. :)

Thank you for your nice words bro. Yeah, I think you are right and my musical contributions might be a well seasoned salad with all kinds of spices that speaks and feeds all parts of the brain.

As for the engagement and interaction, yeah it comes in bursts sometimes. But not really a thing as to want to start throwing and set off firecrackers. Hahahaha

Oh cool!! if there is any link where we can listen online any song of the album, please let me know. As you know I am a musical sybarite always with a knife and fork in hand and my bib on to enjoy a good musical feast at any time. :)

Cheers!!
