A dear greeting to all lovers of physical activities that populate the mythical community of Actifit.
Another cold but serene day marked this week’s Tuesday. The weather is giving us some respite and I can move around the neighborhood with ease.
This morning I was in the area and I did not go too far from home as I had to do the shopping and prepare lunch. After the terrible weekend of indigestion I started a strict dissociated diet. Main course for lunch and first course in the evening with a breakfast of slices of Carré bread with jam and a yogurt for snack.
In the evening I went down to the village to see a friend and then on the way back I stopped to make a visit to the church the Minor Basilica of Santa Maria della Neve.
I took pictures of all the churches in Naples but those of the neighborhood where I was born were missing.
The interiors have been renovated and recently painted and have an excellent appearance. Behind the altar there is the sixteenth-century wooden statue of Santa Maria della neve that is carried in parade every year on an allegorical chariot during its commemoration.
The main arch depicts the miraculous event of the fall of snow in Rome in August.
The church is of fourteenth-century origins and has been enlarged several times over the centuries.
It seems strange that such a beautiful sanctuary is on the outskirts of Naples but in reality my neighborhood, Ponticelli, was the closest city to the capital and was incorporated during the twenty-year fascist to better control an agglomeration of opponents.
And here I am celebrating my iamalivechallenge number 262 always punctual and alive to document my daily physical activity for the Actifit app. Even today I am Alive and I am grateful.
