You have missed us here on the most Southern tip of Africa with your greeting. (Although technically we have English as one of our official languages, so you could say English covered us as well as Hallo, which is quite universal.) In Afrikaans there could be a few greetings but Goeie dag would be the same as Guten Tag you used for the German.
