Guinness at Home for Beer Saturday

in BEERlast year

Back to Basics

After many weeks of me waxing lyrical about Spain and doing Beer Saturday posts about beers I had over, I'm finally back with a post about my beloved Guinness.

The trademark Ablaze Pour

Guinness from a can. Sacrilege you might say? But, do you know what, it's actually pretty damn good and although it's not on par with a draught pint you'll get at your local, it's still pretty damn good.

I like to pour it as follows, crack the can and turn it straight over into your pint glass, ideally a Guinness one, it just looks better. Leave it to settle

Ok that's now settled. Next you want to slowly raise the can as shown in the next few photos.

And Voila, the perfect pint 👌

It's funny how many different ways a guinness can be poured! All of it doesn't give a shit about foam LOL most beers hate when it gets foamy. Guinness says fuck that, give me foam!

Sorry I can't visit your #TTT posts these days dude! They are too big for my old devices hahaha and it crashes my browser. We are thinking we are due for new phones one of these days soon.. waiting for a good deal. Rocking my nearly 6 year old iPhone baby! :D

Here in the Czech Republic, we love the foam and always have it ;) And I guess it means something, coming from "the Beer Nation" that has been drinking beer for more than a millennium and has by far the world´s largest beer consumption per capita ;) The foam is a must.

Some foam is good, but I remember being in bars in Germany and around half the feckin pint was foamy head, which works out very well for the pub owner who get to charge you handsomely for fresh air in the form of bubbles! 😁

Sorry to hear that. We are very careful about this and we hate to get a beer that won´t go up to the fill line. The Czech drinkers are perfectly familiar with how these things work and thus cannot be ripped off but some pubs may still try to serve these "overly foamy" beers to foreigners, unfortunately... But like I said, we always need to have the "cap" (as well call it) on the beer :)

Ah yes man, that was probably it actually, we were young and clearly tourists! I like some foam on top of a beer for sure, hit not too much! 😃

No shit man, sorry to hear that about the browser crashing, in fairness I guess 37 embedded videos will do that!! 😁😁

Ya there are plenty of ways to get a good pour since the widget was invented, its a small plastic ball thingy in the can that gives it the head.

Never tried this, but it is a good plan to give it a try

Ya give it a lash man

What a pour! next time I found Guinness, I'll have to do that in that way. Would love some Guinnes right now :D

Ya try it out @macchiata, it turns out as a great pint.

Wow expertly poured Guinness there good buddy!

It must be a Guinness week and I didn't know about it as @peniel2010 is also enjoying one.

Cheers and well done!

The best thing is you get to leave it to settle on the first pour like a proper pub pint should be served.

For sure! I have poured a few Guinness in my gigs as bartender in the last couple years. I have to pause and enjoy them as they settle out every time.

I would be happy to have a Guinness right now!

Can you get your hands on Guinness cans there?

yeah we have them, we have a world of beer shop nearby luckily!

Excellent, you know what you need to do so!

Hey @ablaze, here is a little bit of BEER from @zekepickleman for you. Enjoy it!
