Prepping My Raised Garden Beds For Winter

This is the second garden bed for the four I’m prepping for the winter season. I’m a little behind but getting there! The last garden bed was the worst of them filled with huge weeds, hoses and even old garden tools from the previous owner. Let’s just say it was a mess lol

This garden bed was one of the easier ones to weed and in my previous video you can see the first crop I planted in this raised garden bed GARLIC! YUM!!

I have a burning passion for gardening. Deep within me aches the willpower to grow an abundant garden that provides for me and my family. Lushish crops teaming with goodness and healthy nutrition produce a bountiful harvest year after year.

I believe this has to do with the connection I feel with my homesteading forebears. They lived in fridge cold climates but were fully self-sufficient which is my ultimate goal but one step at a time!

This old farm house also came with a small greenhouse which will most likely be one of my next projects to get it ready for this spring. This winter is heavily grunt work and getting the property back up into working condition so when spring comes I can plant and learn along the way on what crops and produce works best for different areas.

One of the biggest things I did with these garden beds was doing half and half. Half of the beds have some time of extra compost in them while the other half has minimal. I'm curious to see what type of effects this has on the soil and the harvest for the year.

I have never really prepped my raised beds for winter except tearing out some of the woody plants from the season before. I do have plenty of leaves and some compost and I should go and do that.

Love following your adventure.

It should provide a larger harvest come summer. I did it on these beds as I wasn't sure the last time they were used plus they were filled with weeds and other items lol
