Back at it: 10k Evening Run

in EXHAUST3 years ago

I just finished a 10.082km running that lasted about 0hh:46mm:44ss !

I used the weather as an excuse to take 4 full days off without running: Sunday was my regular rest day, Monday we had rain, and snow on Tuesday. So even if I wasn't too motivated today, I had to go for a run. It seems this rest was a good thing because, while not that impressive, it was still one of my best runs in a while. My legs were really sore though, no idea why. Even more than sore actually, I wanna say painful. I know I walked a lot yesterday, but I've never got sore legs just from walking. Anyways, it got a little better after a couple of miles, so it didn't slow me down too much.

It was much colder than I thought, just about freezing with wind chill. And it was indeed windy! With just my light t-shirt, it took me a while to warm up and luckily I had gloves on. But as usual when I'm surprised by the temperature, I made the same dumb mistake and started way faster than I should have, without warm up. I'm glad that even if my pace went down a bit along the way, I didn't completely crash and burn. Final pace at 7:28min/mile for a 10k is not too bad at all, and like I said one of my best recently.

For once, I still had daylight when I finished the run (as can be seen on cover photo taken right after). That's why I was able to follow one of my old loops. All asphalt streets though, because the nearby trails were a bit muddy from the snow yesterday.

It's unusual for me to run two days in a row but I'll try tomorrow, as I'm pretty sure I won't be able to run on Friday. But we'll see how my body feels, and also the weather of course.
Till then, keep Exhausting!
