Rainy Evening Run

in EXHAUST3 years ago

I just finished a 8.619km running that lasted about 0hh:40mm:14ss !

Damn weather forecast! It was drizzle/rain most of the day, so I waited to see only 1% chance of rain in the forecast, after 7pm. I thought 1% was pretty safe. Well, wrong! Of course, just a few minutes after I started, it started raining, and it was like in cartoons, it seemed the dark clouds were following me. I could see patches of blue sky, but never reached them. And big mistake, I wasn't wearing any waterproof gear. We're also back to 'feels-like' temperatures barely above freezing. So, gloves were a must for me.

For once, I stretched just a little bit before starting, just calves and hamstrings. That helped, hamstrings felt less tight, and calves were okay for a few miles. But after the 4th mile, I'm pretty sure they were very close to cramp up, that's why I kept the run shorter than I planned, with only about 5 miles. It shows again my diet is probably not very suited to my activity level, and I probably don't drink enough water. At least, since I started a tad earlier than usual, I didn't have to turn back where I often do, and kept going to make it a loop. Well, more like a square, because around here, most streets are straight lines with orthogonal crossroads.

I keep getting burned by the weather forecast, but tomorrow is supposed to be really sunny, so we'll see how much time I can find for outdoor sports, and of course how my body feels.
Till then, keep Exhausting!
