Evening 5k Run

I just finished a 5.584km running that lasted about 0hh:23mm:47ss !

Today was a strange combination: very sore legs from yesterday run, but plenty of energy. I was still debating what sport to pick, but I ran out of time for a bike ride. I did want more activities than just dog walks, so I just decided on a short run.

A few days ago, I mentioned I wanted to add a little speed in my runs. With these sore legs, I wasn't sure today would be the day for that. But as I only had time for a shorter run, I knew I could push myself a little bit further in the red zone. So, I started faster than usual, and even if I struggled a bit after about a mile, I managed to progressively increase my pace along the way. Overall, at 6:51min/mile, this is one of my fastest runs in a while. I think I could have held that pace for a bit longer too, so I feel pretty good about that run.

Tomorrow, no running for sure. If the weather stays dry, and I don't run out of time like today, a bike ride would make a great cross training. And ideally, a longer run on Wednesday. But that's a little bit more planning ahead than I'm used to, so we'll see.
