Hey what's up friends!? I know it's quite late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!!
I was not able to blog the past days because I was busy with some stuff. This is also my first day of work for this year. How was your New Year holidays? I hope everyone would have a much better year this time.
Of course, 2020 wasn't all that bad. Despite the pandemic and all the negative stuff that occured last year, there were also a lot of happy and interesting events that happened. It might be difficult, but let's try to look at the brighter side of things.
Anyway, in this post, I'll be sharing the food we prepared for the New Year. I spent it with my parents and Arashi. My male bestie was supposed to visit on the 31st, but decided to come on the 30th instead. We weren't able to spend time because I was working that day, but he messaged me that night that he came over and brought something. I call him "Santa CAKE" since he gave us another box of cake for New Year. hahaha
Anyway, here are the pictures. <3
These are dishes prepared by my parents. I wanted to help with the preparation but I was busy re-arranging and cleaning my room. I had to move the bed and other furniture around, so I could have a much bigger space. I decided not to transform my bed into a sofa and just permanently have it in its bed form. Well, except when I'm cleaning. haha
This one is pork hamonada. It's one of mama's specialties.
This is called "Bam-i" which is basically pancit canton and bihon with a variety of ingredients like pork, liver, chorizo bilbao, cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, etc. Originally, there should be shrimp in it, but since I'm allergic, we had to leave it out.
Usually, mama cooks pasta like spaghetti, fettuccini, or the like, but decided to try something different this year. :) It was delicious, though.
Next one is this sweet and sour fish. I'm not really into this kind of dish, but my parents enjoyed eating it. We also shared some food to our neighbors since we won't be able to finish all the food. Well, we were able to eat them for a couple of days, so good for our pockets and our tummy. lol
At midnight of January first, I was able to have a video call with my bestie and my grandma. Earlier on the 31st, I was also able to have a video call with one of my friends. It's really nice that despite the current situation, we can keep in touch with our family and friends.
This year is going to be another challenging, yet fulfilling year. Let's do our best and enjoy life! Thanks for checking this post out! Have a great one! (^_^)/
