It's time to share another artwork. I actually made this last Saturday, but I couldn't get the chance to share it because I was busy with anime. haha It was my day off, so I was making the most of it. Well, I did share my marker sketch that time, so it's all good.
This painting is actually of a garden from the anime Howl's Moving Castle. I really love the scenery and I've always wanted to go to such a peaceful and wonderful place. For now, I'll just paint it. This is my version of Sophie's Garden.
I used some watercolor (tubes) on my watercolor pad. My solid watercolor didn't arrive until yesterday, so I couldn't use them yet. (It's technically Monday now, so yeah... my previous post about it was yesterday. lol)
So much for that, allow me to share to you the process, starting from taping the sides of the watercolor paper and coloring the background.
I colored the whole page with shades of green and some yellow because I initially planned for everything to just be the flower fields and stuff. However, in the middle of painting, I changed my mind. I wanted to include some water elements to the garden, so this is what happened.
I also painted this small hut which served as the magical entrance to this garden. This is just its base color, but later on it'll be covered with some plants and flowers.
I tried creating some pathway, but decided against it in the end. I wanted the place to look more natural... meaning, just grass and flowers. hahaha
Then, I just scattered lots of flowers everywhere. I used various bright and pretty colors like pink, yellow, orange and similar ones.
Lastly, I took out the masking tape on each side and wrote my username and signature.
And so, there we have my version of Sophie's garden. I love drawing lovely sceneries be it real or from anime or movies. My bestie suggested or somehow requested some scenes from various anime for me to paint, and I'm very excited to do them soon!
I hope you enjoyed this painting. Until next time! :)
