Thank you for the thoughtful contribution. That's why I love blue ink. Each line/stroke is vital to getting the tones, forms and textures.

agreed, that’s why blUE ballpoint feels so satisfying, every line carries weight and the patience shows.
Your focus on single strokes really builds the toens, forms and textures without things getting muddy.
Do you stick with one pen through a piece or swap when the flow shifts :)?
