Drawing A Portrait [1870]

Hello Hivers, happy new week!

Today, I want to share with you my new art work. It's a random portrait drawing of a beautiful young lady with individual long hairs and a little drop of smile.

The portrait was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper. I used scribble technique to create this piece.

Below are my step-by-step processes:

Thank you.

The way you used a blue ballponit pen on cardbord lets the scri;bble technique bring out that soft smile and lively hair. Watching lines build up into tone like this is oddly calming, kind of like seeing a messy table turn neat :) The restraint in the shadows keeps the face clean and the highlights right where they need to be.

Thank you for the thoughtful contribution. That's why I love blue ink. Each line/stroke is vital to getting the tones, forms and textures.

agreed, that’s why blUE ballpoint feels so satisfying, every line carries weight and the patience shows.
Your focus on single strokes really builds the toens, forms and textures without things getting muddy.
Do you stick with one pen through a piece or swap when the flow shifts :)?

I use about 3 to 4 different pen cause each of their tips has various grades of ink they drop.

Congratulations
