What Is HolyBread?
Holybread is an RPG style browsergame built on the Steem blockchain. Heroes are used to being leveled and skilled. Items are used to make heroes even stronger to defeat the enemy. Both - heroes and items - are collectible and tradable with other players. The Steem blockchain gives every hero and item clear ownership. This game is free to play and offers ways to earn real currency.
As the above screenshots show, the current prize pool for the first ever buyback of BreadCrumbs is 1600 STEEM and counting. HolyBread has only been live for a few short hours but so far it seems like its a hit. Something of importance to note about this prize pool is that its not all paid out weekly. As noted by @auminda in the screen shot above, Instead a percentage of the total prize pool is paid out and the rest is left to seed the next payout. This is a very smart play from the creators of this game as it gives the prize pool some stability and ensures there's payouts on weeks the games prize pot hasn't grown much.
What Is BreadCrumbs?
Breadcrumbs is an ingame currency in Holybread that is mainly rewarded for the arena rank. It is tradable with other players on Steem-Engine. Currently the main purpose of Breadcrumbs is to reward players for their performance and activity in Holybread.
HolyBread will use 50% of everything that is earned by Holybread to buy back Breadcrumbs from the market. That way players can earn real money. There may be more purposes for Breadcrumbs in the future.
The above image is what you will see when signing up to HolyBread. The sign up process is simple and uses SteemConnect and Keychain for the ease of getting started with the game.
After importing your STEEM username another screen will pop up that will allow you to choose a character and class.
Each Hero gives a small buff to different attributes. After you pick your hero you'll be ready to equip your Hero with weapons and other in game items and head to battle or head out to do some quests. The overview of your gameplay will show some stats and will have links shown in which will bring you to different aspects of the game. Click Quests to participate in a Quest. Arena will bring you to the battle grounds in which you can start battling.
How To Battle
Once you click the Arena link you will be brought to the battle page in which will display four other Hereos that are close to your rankings. Three of these Hereos will have a league ranking higher than yours, the other one will be lower than yours. You get to choose only one Hero to face, if you choose one of the three that are ranked higher than you and beat them, you will take their rank number. For example, I choose to battle @masterthematrix who was ranked 72 and because I was able to defeat his Hero, I then took the ranking of 72 and his Hero was dropped to the ranking of 73. After each battle there's a 15 minute wait period before you can battle again (There's ways to skip wait times with in game purchases).
How To Complete A Quest
Click the Quest link shown on the main page and you will be brought to the quest section of the game. Quests are tasking and require Energy to complete. There's currently three different types of quests that will consume different amounts of energy. These quest are 5/10 and 15 minute quests. Each minute represents one energy so if you choose to complete a 10 minute quest, your hero will lose 10 energy (Energy replenishes ten points every hour).
Completing Quests will level your Hereo and allow you to find in game items in which can be equiped by your hero or sold to other players. You will also earn Gold for completing quests. After completing a quest you can claim your rewards and then either wait the aforementioned time (5/10/15 minutes) to complete another or skip the wait time with an in game purchase.
The Market
The Market is where you can sell your unwanted items to other players who may need or want them. Hero's can be bought and sold on the marketplace as well. There's a 10 cent + 5% fee for any sale that takes place.
Alternatively to selling your items they can also be destroyed via clicking the item and navigating to the destroy link. Don't fancy destroying an item, you could also trade it for gold in the Item Store section. Simply select your item and click the trade now option.
The Market isn't the only place you can purchase items for your hero. Clicking the Item Store link will take you to a store that sells items. These items can be purchased for the gold you earned via playing the game. There will be nine items displayed in which can be removed (refreshed) if choosen. Removing the items for a batch of new items can be done for free once every 24 hours. In game purchases will allow you to refresh the item store at will but get more costly with each refresh.
There's other aspects of the game that you will catch onto rather quickly once you start playing but the above should give you a good idea on how the game is played and how to earn real currency with it.
