Wow! Aunt Ethel is an eccentric force. 😄 What a humourous and dramatic display at the family gathering. So her decision and outspokenness leaves no room for argument and it all starts with a statement that is more or less a gossip.

She couldn't quite remember who shared this tidbit concerning the awful dish...

This goes to show the power of words. A person may utter a sentence with far-reaching implications. But what's wrong with Aunt Valerie's culinary skills anyway? 😄 Yes, every family must boast of some sort of drama!

Having grown up with her sister, Aunt Ethel already knows the quality of her cooking abilities. When she hears about Valerie's rice dressing dish she served others, Ethel is determined that her sister won't be serving that dish at the all important wedding of their niece.

The power of words. Definitely comes into play. Whether truth or fiction, others listen. That's why one must be careful spreading rumors or outright lies.

Every family was some sort of drama, whether large or small. And invariably, it's that one outspoken family members that is the center of attention. I wondered why Valerie didn't speak up for herself. That's telling indeed.
