Interchangeable capes... wow, I guess not only your nephews would like them. It would be too cute to have this possibility on a project bag. I have never attached Velcro neither have I tried to make such a logo myself, both seem like fiddly work. But your logos turned out beautiful.
I am not very knowledgeable in the superhero realm, but I just now watched a serial about anti-superheroes which was fairly brutal but also ironic and with a lot of dark humour:

        Talking about superheroes, here is my personal favourite. She fights for the good using some different weapons. Unfortunately it's only available with subtitles.

                    Ooo bags.. that would be pretty cool too isn't it? We can change the applique/logo/symbols according to our mood :)
                    Ah logo on felt fabric is pretty alright. No need to worry about frayed edges. Just cut and sew them together :D Try it sometime!
                    I have not heard of The Boys but it looks really interesting. A lot of big names in there! I will go look for it :)
