Happy, jolly #NeedleWorkMonday everyone!
My little bolster only had one cover and each time it is washed, my bolster felt naked. And so I thought it was time to make another cover for it.
After measuring the size of the current bolster cover, I drew it out to keep it for future reference.
As I had a lot of remaining old bedsheet fabric, I used one of it that already has a an almost precut size from my previous projects.
I cut the piece out, folded into half...
And started hemming all 4 sides because at the shorter length, I will be sewing a fold to string for the bolster closures.
In the middle of it all, I suddenly had a grand idea to add a bird onto the bolster cover, considering the pattern was all flowers and branches.
My initial thought was a happy bird. I took scraps and cut out the shape.
And this was how it was suppose to look like, happy and cute.
But then, I started sewing...
My sewing was quite horrid somehow. It was too small for my fingers and eyes, that I couldn't focus well (excuses, excuses, excuses :P).
I added a red tail, a yellow beak...
and its yellow legs and black eyes with a tinge of grey. It suddenly turned from a cute, happy bird into an angry bird :(
Hopefully the angry bird can find some happiness on a happy branch :D
I continued sewing, and joining the sides...
...while making sure I leave an opening for the string.
Then, I inserted the string...
...and tested the new cover with the little bolster.
There it was, the angry bird...
It is angry because I made it angry :'(
