I try to go one better and avoid grains as much as possible.

Even better man, good stuff and another one I forgot to mention is water, drinking plenty of water.

Ya. The days I do the intermittent fasting, Ii have 2 or 3 pints of water before breakfast between 7am and 11am which can only be a good thing and helps purge all the toxins from your body.
