I had chickens myself in El Salvador but had to move, so I don't have any right now but can't wait to move back and hsve chickens again.
What we did is always have an egg in a nest (use any kind of egg, the cheepest eggs you can buy because they will have to be thrown away after two weeks. Label them with a marker so that you know which egg is fresh and which one stays in the nest.) Our chickens would fight for the nests with eggs and none of them would go to the empty nest.
